And here are several of tweets I saw about the debate:

Annamie Paul has now endorsed the Liberals:

            A few mpaign factoids:

Those rallies at hospitals are going to doom the Conservative mpaign.

I believe that over the last two weeks, nadians were starting to think hey, maybe this O’Toole guy might be OK, at least he’s sorta friendly, he’s not like Harper, so maybe those Conservatives might be worth considering.?
But these hospital rallies are going to kill any positive feelings nadians might have had toward the the Conservative party leader who n’t even convince his own ucus to get vaccinated and certainly doesn’t seem to be able to deal with nutty protestors:

            Election Follies and Funnies #11

Posted  September 1, 2021  by  Anonymous

The polling news is slightly better for the Liberals, and tomorrow they will FINALLY be releasing their Red Book, so it will be easier to make comparisons — yes, all of the parties have their mpaign promises on their websites, but there’s still nothing like a text.?

Trudeau pushed back vigorously on the anti-vaxx protestors today, and it was great to hear:

The Conservatives are still trying to figure out some way to spin the screaming and cursing anti-vaxx protestors into something negative for Trudeau but they’re not having much success.?

They have been trying to compare the anti-vaxxers with the opposition that Harper got, but it really doesn’t compare:

Trudeau’s other recent announcement sure was cute, though not on purpose:

And this was an odd one — Singh got thrown under the bus last week AT HIS OWN EVENT by Manitoba Indigenous leaders.?

When I saw a tweet last night about this I could not believe it, so I looked up the Akin piece and sure enough, it actually happened:

By morning, this story had hit the national news.?

O’Toole’s daily attempts to avoid unscripted crowds are leading him into some strange settings for his mpaigning – I think the empty bowling alley was a new low in irrelevancy:

As much as I agree that governments need to get serious about protecting animals, I found the Conservative “puppy mills” announcement to be both insulting and cynil.?

If the Conservatives actually want to protect animals, then they need to get the federal Department of Agriculture involved in improving how livestock animals are treated on farms, an area of animal welfare that provincial governments have been far too reluctant to regulate beuse of the power of agricultural lobby groups on provincial legislatures.
And this was also noticed by many:
            ?

            The funnies:

And here’s some good news – the rest of the world likes us!

            So this happened:

And Conservatives across nada went batshit.?

Liberals smelled a rat – or at least, something a little odd:

Then @gill_godwin sniffed out some relationships – between the public relations professional who was originally outraged that Freeland had chopped up her O’Toole “interview” where he made the trunted remarks about nadian healthre, and her friendship with Twitter’s public policy manager who used to be a parliamentary assistant to Harper. So maybe this helps to explain why Twitter was ON IT!!!

Simon freaked us all out on Saturday when he posted this alarming chart:

He also noted that it is still summer, and nadians may not be interested yet:

But it definitely gives me pause, and keeps me scouring the news for what is happening, bad and good. Beuse I am absolutely terrified that nada will again turn down a national day re program like they did when Layton torpedoed the Martin government.?

Even my own relatives were saying today that “Oh, but O’Toole has a day re plan too!” when he very much does NOT — just a tax credit for people who don’t actually need it.?
Its the nadian working poor who need $10-a-day dayre, so they n take home more from their lower-income jobs, while their kids get better day re from the child re spaces a national program will create.

I do wish the Liberals could do a better job telling nadians why they are seeking a majority government now. Parliamentary reporter Dale Smith explains the “toxic spring” we had this year:

And I’m glad to see Trudeau strike back:

And then I see something like this, and it makes me feel better too:
